Janek Kolodynski

Hello. Welcome to my web pages.
I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, where I lead the Quantum Information and Inference (QI2) group, which operates also at the Centre of New Technologies as the QI2-lab.
Within QI2 we primarily work on quantum metrology and sensing problems. We develop fundamental theory for quantum estimation tasks in order to focus on their experimental implementations, with particular interest in atomic-ensemble, optomechanical and solid-state quantum sensors. We also seek novel solutions in quantum information, cryptography and communication, especially exploring the device-independent framework. In parallel, we work on software for quantum experiments: our aim is to create an open-source library that will encompass various “quantum-tailored” statistical inference and signal processing tools (such as filtering, compressive sampling and machine learning), so that they can be directly implemented in quantum control and sensing experiments that involve, e.g., continuous-time measurements and/or feedback control protocols.
